The 2016 Chambers USA rankings have been released and Kegler Brown’s construction practice has earned recognition as one of the very best in Ohio. Attorneys Don Gregory and Mike Madigan were both selected for individual recognition, while the firm’s construction practice more generally was identified as one of the best in the state.

Don Gregory has been honored once again as one of only two lawyers in Columbus worthy of a “Band 1” ranking, the highest offered by the organization. In its evaluation commentary of Gregory’s reputation in the past year, Chambers quotes clients when asserting that Gregory is “truly excellent when it comes to construction law and litigation,” which the publication believes “sums up the prevailing opinion in the market.” Chambers also notes his versatility in working with “the full spectrum of construction clients” in both contentious and noncontentious matters throughout the state. Gregory, who chairs Kegler Brown’s construction law practice and enjoys a reputation as one of the most respected lawyers in Ohio on construction matters, has been listed among the very best construction lawyers in the state for many consecutive years.

Mike Madigan was also ranked as one of fewer than 30 construction lawyers in total to receive a rating in 2016 and was the only attorney in the state to earn the prestigious “Up and Coming” designation for the construction industry. The organization noted Madigan’s mediation prowess and the size and scope of his client relationships as key to his success, while noting that he “has followed through and handled depositions, communications and all aspects of the legal process in the most professional manner,” according to one source.

More generally, Kegler Brown’s construction law practice has earned recognition of one of the top seven practices statewide. The rankings assert that the firm’s practice is “particularly well regarded for advising subcontractors on a range of noncontentious and dispute work,” while also noting that its collective expertise covers hospital, highway, school and arena projects. More importantly, Chambers USA relays the client perspectives uncovered in the research process and notes that the firm has “partners who can cover all areas,” that its rates are “very reasonable,” that its lawyers are considered “very responsive,” and that the firm’s approach to client service has been “outstanding.”
